PROJECT DESCRIPTION |
The main purpose of Building Human Services Research Partnerships Puerto Rico (BHSRPPR) is to
promote effective research and the development of a culture and practice of evidence-based
policy making for low-income families and children in Puerto Rico. Under the auspices of the
U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Administration of Children and Families, Office
of Planning, Research and Evaluation (OPRE) and the leadership of the Inter-American
University of Puerto Rico Metropolitan Campus (IAUPR-MC) the project brings together key
stakeholders from academia, government agencies, non-profit organizations and providers,
philanthropic institutions and the private sector to develop a multi-stakeholder partnership to
advance research focusing on low-income families and children. The project will result in a
needs assessment and identification of successful approaches and best practices to improve self-sufficiency
among poor families and children in Puerto Rico.
